For the students who apply for music colleges, this choice is different from other study paths. Before they made up their minds, what made them confident was their passion for music.
对于申请音乐院校的学生来说，这个选择与其他升学路径不同，下定决心之前，能让他们坚定信心的就是对音乐的热情。
"Music is always flowing in my blood. It is my spiritual food and a constant source of inspiration. Although I had some worry when planning my future career, I am now determined to pursue the path of music creation, following my heart to express my emotions and creativity in another wonderful language," said Ryan.
“音乐始终流淌在我的血液里，是我必需的精神食粮和持续的灵感来源。虽然在规划未来方向时有过些许担忧，但如今的我毅然选择了音乐创作这条道路，追随我的内心，以另一种美妙的语言来抒发我的情感与创意。“龚靖泓说。

The passion for music is like a seed, without a good environment, it can not grow and bloom. DSI provides a good environment for students who have a passion for their dreams. "When I joined DSI 6 years ago, I didn"t know much about music, but DSI led me to feel the charm of music," Jordan recalled, "The funny music classes and interesting CCA activities made me love music, and at last I chose Music Creation as my major."
而对音乐的热情，也离不开环境的培养。对于谭宇航来说，德胜学校国际部就是孕育他音乐种子的沃土。“在六年前刚加入这个大家庭的时候，我对音乐的了解也仅局限于四岁半学起的钢琴。但是，德胜国际部让我感受到音乐的魅力。”谭宇航回忆道，“无论是栩栩如生的课堂还是有趣的弦乐团CCA，都让我真心地喜欢上这门科目，并最后选择了音乐创作专业。”

The music academic performance is not the only decisive factor to enter the dream school. DSI students need to develop themselves holistically so as to stand out from excellent competitors from all over the world. Ryan is very grateful for his teachers" professional guidance. "Organizing concerts, setting up volunteers’ team and participating in competitions taught me important lessons which developed my social and leadership skills, improved my self-confidence, and made me confident to step into the future."
要考上理想的音乐学院，音乐成绩并不是唯一决定因素。在德胜国际部，学生们需要全面培养自己的综合能力，才能够在一众优秀的全球申请者中脱颖而出。无论是课程的丰富程度，还是老师们的悉心栽培，都让龚靖泓在回顾成长过程时感恩。“举办音乐会、创立义工团、参加比赛等等，都让我学到了意想不到的知识，很好地锻炼了我的社交、领导能力，提升了我的自信，让我对未来充满了向往和勇气。"

Some people think that entering a good college is the terminal of all the effort they have paid. However, for Ryan and Jordan, this is just the beginning of their wonderful life journey. As for the outlook of the future, they all want to make some achievements in their musical career. Apart from that, Jordan wants to explore musicmore deeply, while Ryan wants to bring more colors to people"s life together with other musicians through continuous study.
有些人认为，考上好大学，就是现在的努力所迈向的终点。然而，对两位学霸来说，考上好大学只是他们精彩人生的起点。对于未来，他们斗志满满，并且充满信心。除了希望在职业道路上有一番作为，谭宇航希望继续探索音乐背后更深层的意义，而龚靖泓则希望通过不断地创作和学习，能与其钟爱的艺术家们一起给人们的生活增添独特的色彩。

老师眼中的他们
Not every excellent student is a genius, and their way to the dream college was not smooth. Mr. Julian Low recalled that when he started teaching them, hewas initially shocked by their music compositions - wrong notes, wrong key and wrong rhythm! However, under Mr. Julian"s professional guidance, they worked very hard and finally received many offers from top universities. DSI teachers are very proud of their results and sincerely wish them a bright future, hoping that they will use their profession to make a contribution to Shunde in the future.
不是每个学霸都是天才，这两位音乐学霸的求学之路不是一帆风顺的。指导老师刘汇贤回忆道，“他们在十年级刚开始跟我学习音乐的时候，他们的音乐水平吓了我一跳——竟然错音，错调，错拍子！”然而，在刘老师的专业指导下，两位学霸将勤补拙，最终收获了众多顶尖大学的offer。老师们对他们这样的成绩感到非常自豪，并且希望他们学有所成，日后能运用自己的专业为顺德的发展作出贡献。

DSIis one of the earliest schools in Shunde to offer an academic Music Program. DSIattaches great importance to art education, innovates various music courses, introduces professional teachers, organizes competitions and activities, and provides students with a stage to show their artistic talents. In both curriculums, students get to learn different components of music including composing, performing, music history and world music. In the IB program, students go a step further in taking part in musical research as part of their External Assessment.
